remember how i said i was feeling a little overwhelmed? it lasted quite a long time. so i did what often do when i'm feeling a wee bit paralyzed -- i find solace in books. i picked up one of my favorites (which i actually have never finished because i'm savoring it like a delicious piece of chocolate). anne lamott's bird by bird :: some instructions on writing and life. i opened it to find the pink felt heart bookmark i made for myself long ago; a gentle reminder to be kind to myself. i think i should plant these little felt reminders in all sorts of places.
